Maintenance tips for computer glasses

The advent of the internet era has led people to almost constantly face electronic screens. Many people wear computer glasses to protect their eyesight. So how should we maintain our computer glasses? Here are some safety tips for maintaining anti-computer radiation glasses that I would like to share with you.

1. Handling the glasses: Use both hands to hold the temple arms and put them on parallel to your cheeks. Avoid using one hand to put on the glasses as it can disrupt the balance of the frame and cause deformation.

2. Rotation method: If you temporarily place the glasses, make sure the convex side faces upward. Placing the glasses with the convex side facing downward can scratch the lenses.

3. Cleaning the lenses: Use a clean, dedicated lens cleaning cloth. Be sure to hold the frame edge with your fingers while gently wiping one side of the lens. Avoid excessive force that could damage the frame or lens.

4. Removing dust or dirt from lenses: Dry wiping can easily scratch the lenses, so it is recommended to rinse them with water and then dry them with a lens cleaning cloth after absorbing the moisture with a tissue. If the lenses are very dirty, it is recommended to use a low concentration, neutral detergent to clean them, followed by rinsing with water and drying.

5. Use a glasses case: When you are not wearing the glasses, wrap them in a glasses cloth and place them in a glasses case. Avoid contact with corrosive substances such as insecticides, toilet cleaners, cosmetics, hair gel, and medications. Otherwise, it can cause damage to the lens or frame.

6. Folding the frame: If the glasses have a folding frame, start folding from the left side. Folding the right side first can easily deform the frame.

7. Deformation of the glasses: If the frame becomes deformed, it can cause discomfort on the nose or ears and the lenses can become loose. It is recommended to have them adjusted by professionals regularly.

These are some tips for maintaining computer glasses and minimizing the effects of computer radiation on our eyes.

First tip: When operating a computer, it is best to install a computer-specific filter on the screen to reduce radiation hazards. Do not place miscellaneous metal objects indoors to avoid the re-emission of electromagnetic waves. When using a computer, adjust the screen brightness. Generally, the higher the screen brightness, the stronger the electromagnetic radiation. Conversely, lower brightness levels can affect visibility and cause eye fatigue.

Second tip: The placement of the computer is important. Try not to have the back of the screen facing people, as the back of the computer emits the strongest radiation, followed by the left and right sides, while the front of the screen emits the weakest radiation. The distance between the eyes and the screen should be at least 50 cm to 75 cm, or adjusted to ensure clear visibility, which can reduce electromagnetic radiation damage.

Third tip: Pay attention to indoor ventilation. Scientific research has shown that computer screens can produce a carcinogen called brominated biphenyl furan. Therefore, it is best to install an exhaust fan in the room where the computer is placed. If not available, pay special attention to ventilation when using the computer.

Fourth tip: It is advisable to purchase newer computers and avoid using old computers as they generally emit more radiation. Under the same distance and model conditions, the radiation from old computers is generally 1-2 times that of new computers.
